hummus tycoon · effective october 16, 2026
hummus tycoon is a game made by startup ui. this page explains what the game keeps, where, and why.
what stays on your phone
your progress (coins, buildings, settings) is saved on your device. it stays there unless you use the friends features below. deleting the app deletes it.
game center
if you sign in to game center, apple's service, the game reports your scores to its leaderboards and unlocks achievements. game center knows you by the player id and nickname you set up with apple, and apple's privacy policy covers it.
friends and shared villages
when you're signed in to game center and icloud, the game shares a snapshot of your village so friends and other players can visit it: the city you're in, your buildings with their levels and machines, your empire level, your lifetime coins, and your game center player id and nickname. the snapshot lives in the game's public icloud database, which apple runs. hearts you leave on other villages are stored there too, with your player id.
to remove your village, open friends in the game and switch "shared" to "hidden". the game deletes it from the shared database.
notifications
if you allow notifications, the game schedules reminders on your phone, for example when your cold stores run out or when teta has a gift for you. they're created on the device itself.
what we leave out
no ads, no tracking, no analytics and no third-party sdks. the game never asks for your email, location, contacts or photos, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
children
the game is made for everyone. it asks nobody for personal information. game center and icloud are apple accounts, with apple's family settings.
changes and questions
if this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. for questions, reach startup ui through startupui.com.
